Emergency Hospital and Medical Expense for Visitors to Canada pays up to the sum insured for reasonable and necessary expenses of unexpected injury or sickness by an insured person while staying in Canada. Choose from four maximum limits:

Minimum premium: 10 days coverage per person.
Family rate applies to up to two adults living in the same residence, plus up to three dependents up to and including age 21.


The Basic Plan covers emergency medical expenses as outlined in the section titled "Benefits".

The Select Plan also includes a return home benefit, Accidental Death and Disablement, and two follow-up visits following emergency treatment.

Coverage for losses arising as a result of an Injury begin in Canada at the latest of:
a) 12:01 a.m. on the Effective Date as indicated on the Declaration Form or
b) The time of application.

Coverage for loss arising as a result of a Sickness begins in Canada 48 hours after the latest of:
a) 12:01 a.m. on the Effective Date as indicated on the Declaration Form or
b) The time of application.

All coverage terminates at the earliest of:
a) 12:00 midnight on the expiry date or
b) Time the Insured arrives in their Country of Origin.
